Gypsum Recycling Ireland’s proprietary recycling technology does not only handle gypsum blocks and plasterboard waste from new constructions and production scrap from the original manufacture of the virgin gypsum products, but also gypsum waste from all other sources, including waste from demolition and rebuild sites. At such sites, nails, screws and other impurities are often found in the gypsum waste, and the plasterboards are covered with various kinds of wall coverings. With the special technology embedded in our system, such waste is no more difficult for us to handle and process than pure gypsum waste. Our system is successfully proven every day in Scandinavia, where operations started in 2001.

Our system handles the waste from the collection to the delivery of recycled materials to gypsum board manufactures and other industries such as composting, and therefore encompasses not only a recycling unit, but all the necessary components to assure an environmently friendly recycling system.

Mission...

It is Gypsum Recycling Ireland’s mission to avoid the landfilling of this valuable material i.e. gypsum waste plasterboard.

By establishing recycling programmes we can help the environment and save this scarce natural resource at the same time as we are providing the gypsum industry with a valuable raw material.

With landfills filling up everywhere, we consider our cost-effective solution to be a meaningful mission to help avoid, that in Europe alone, more than 3 million tons of gypsum waste are deposited at landfills yearly.
